Originally designed for the Yarrabilba residential development by Lend Lease, in the Gold Coast hinterland, the initial brief for the ‘Array’ suite called for a range of furniture items that were cohesive with the project branding and the contemporary architecture on site, while also making a direct reference to the natural surrounding landscape.

The design of the Versa Suite was refined to prioritise cost-effectiveness and material efficiency without sacrificing quality. The furniture range also complies with LIM (Landscape Infrastructure Manual) standards for product longevity and accessibility.

The DEK series is a result of the collaboration between David Shaw and Alexander Lotersztain that was sparked by the 2002 21st Century Chairs Exhibition, curated by Kirsten Fitzpatrick. Making a connection whilst the exhibition was featured the following year in Milan, David offered Alex an opportunity that grew and evolved into the DEK furniture suite available today. Based on the modernist flat bar and timber outdoor furniture, the range provides multiple seating and leaning opportunities.

Ideas that reflected the function of the Southbank Institute of Technology were developed in association with GMG and Alexander Lotersztain. The idea for both private and gathering places to enhance the learning experience was adopted as a theme for furniture shapes with references to pixels as part of decorative and functional elements that became part of the furniture identity.

The ‘Lakes’ suite was designed specifically for the North Lakes residential estates, located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane Queensland. With forms inspired by the architecture on site, the main focus of the furniture suite was to create a unique and unified identity for the parkland and community areas of the site.

Initially designed for a project near the Brisbane International Airport, the ‘Flight’ suite was inspired by aeronautical forms and materials. A key aspect of the brief was to allow for the application of corporate colours and the ability for multiple people to use the seating at any given time. The client also wanted a design with minimal maintenance requirements.
